Dear friends, You all might be knowing that the Indian government has launched an app to help India fight COVID-19 pandemic. And the app name is Arogya Setu. It is available in iOS and Android versions. This app is useful to track COVID-19 infected people. I also thought of installing this app. To my surprise during the setup process, at one screen, the app ask me about a list of diseases I might ever have. The list of diseases as diabetes, hypertension, lung disease, heart disease. You might have also seen the below screen.



What does it show? it means, according to the research done on Corona patients reveals that people who have had any above-listed diseases have more chances to get affected with COVID-19. Surprisingly, all the above-listed diseases are followed by obesity. People who are obese have more chances of having diabetes, hypertension, lung disease, heart disease, etc. According to an article released by New York Post dated 26 March 2020, obesity increases the risk for COVID-19 complications. Health officials have warned that obesity can weaken the body's immune system and increase inflammation, which makes it harder for the body to fight off germs. India is the third-largest obese country in the world. At some point in time each one of us was absolutely fit. We don't know when we become overweight.
